Rebecca M. from Vancouver, Canada went on a four week honeymoon trip through Tahiti, Moorea, New Zealand's North Island and Bora Bora in French Polynesia in July 2011. While in Bora Bora, she swam with sharks in open water, toured the islands by jet ski and stayed in an over-water bungalow.

Spring Break Guide: The Grand Canyon

Derrik Chinn, travel planner extraordinaire and owner of Tijuana tour company, Turista Libre curated six Spring Break guides for Made to Last. He is our featured guest blogger and is giving tips and tricks for all of the hottest Spring Break destinations. This week we are featuring The Grand Canyon.

The Grand Canyon

Ah, The Grand Canyon. Oneof North America's most breathtaking geological wonders that's two billion years in the making, all at yourfingertips. Well, yours and about 50 million others. That's right, some fivemillion tourists flood the Grand Canyon every year. Let's get as far away fromas many of them as possible, ASAP. They'll hog all the fresh air.

Skywalk. On this walkway thatextends 70 feet off the canyon's edge, a mere 2.5 inches of glass is all thatseparates your bootied feet (so as not to smudge the view) from the 4,000-footdrop down to the Colorado River. Located on the West Rim, 24 miles west ofGrand Canyon Villiage, Skywalk opened in 2007 to give visitors access to viewsof the canyon normally reserved for folks with enough funds to throw down on aprivate helicopter tour. grandcanyonskywalk.com.

White Water Raft in the Grand Canyon

White and wild. TheGrand Canyon ranks as the country's top white water rafting trip, says NatGeo,with waves that can top 20 feet and hydraulics that flip boats like flapjacks.It's not always a bumpy, the ride includes scenic stretches that pass Anasaziruins and cactus. The waiting list for a permit to captain your own vessel downthe Colorado is backed up for years, but plenty of tour outfits operateregularly. Multi-day treks are the norm, usually at least three days. Butsingle-day options exist, too. Check raftarizona.com, westernriver.com andgrandcanyon.com.

Waterfall swim party. TheHavasupai, whose name means people of the blue-green water, are the onlycontinual residents of the Grand Canyon, going on 800 years. And they'retotally cool with you pitching a tent in their backyard. Just call ahead totell them you're coming (havasupaitribe.com). Otherwise they'll charge youdouble. For real.

It's an eight-mile hikefrom the parking lot at the canyon's southern rim during which you'll descend3,000 feet to Supai, capital of theHavasupai and the most remote village in the U.S. (the mail still arrives on amuleback; the post office sells postcards so you can write home to say justthat). Then it's another two miles to the campground, all together making for a4-6 hour hike in.

Havasupai Waterfalls

The next few days consistof a continual swim party in the turquoise pools at the base of Havasu Falls, Mooney Falls and Beaver Falls, all between a half and three miles from camp. Havasu is the closestand most picturesque, falling 100 feet into a sweeping turquoise pool. Thetallest, Mooney, measures 190 feet.

Camping at the bottom ofthe Havasupai isn't really for pamperati. You haul in all your food and water,haul out all your trash and do your business in a hole.

New Music: 'Breakfast' By Chiddy Bang

Breakout electro inspired hip-hop duo Chiddy Bang, comprised of rapper Chiddy and producer Xaphoon Jones, have sent us an exclusive and inspired playlist featuring their favorite tracks of the moment. Chiddy Bang already released their much buzzed about debut album Breakfast exclusively on the iTunes Store (iTunes.com/ChiddyBang) and will hit retail and digital outlets on February 28th. Additionally, their song “Handclaps & Guitars” will be this week’s FREE iTunes “Single of the Week,” starting today.

In conjunction with the release of Breakfast, Chiddy Bang has linked up with software developer Smule and their MadPad sound mixing application. Smule's MadPad app turns everyday sights and sounds into the ultimate percussive instrument. Remixers can play thousands of premade sets or make their own video soundboard in just minutes. Chiddy Bang have created a number of their own MadPad video sets, one of which they remixed to their single “Ray Charles.” A video featuring the band both recording and performing the MadPad version of “Ray Charles” can be seen exclusively on Chiddy Bang's and Smule's YouTube channels. Users can play with Chiddy Bang's sets by downloading MadPad, which is free this week in the iTunes App store.

Cancun is, has been andperhaps always will be first and foremost a notorious playground for gringosand their European brethren, and its most infamous, obvious amenities attest tothis. The booze cruises, the monstrous clubs, the fake tattoos, the tequilafunnels, the Pleasure Islandesque debauchery. It's all an ever-temptingdistraction from the fact that the Yucatan peninsula is one of the mostecologically unique sites on Earth. Cancun. It's way more than a beerbillboard, güey.

Playa patrol. A brief 101 on the beaches.Party at Playa Tortugas. Escape the party at Playa Las Perlas. Surf at PlayaDelfinas. Snooze at Playa Langosta or Linda.

Take a break from the beach in a sinkhole. Natural wonders abound in a tropical paradise like this, but it'sa mecca for aficionados of the planet's ultimate swimming holes: cenotes. Sinkholes caused by collapsedlimestone that dot the Yucatan terrain, many connect to underground rivers andcomplex subterranean cave systems as deep as 300 feet below the surface. Once usedfor sacrficial offerings by the Maya, who considered them portals to thenetherworld, they've since become remote oasises for swimmers and cave divers.One of the more popular stops on the Cenote Trail, which runs along theCancun-Tulum freeway, Las Mojarras (cenotelasmojarras.com) measures 200 feet indiameter and 45 feet deep. And it's rigged with a zip line, diving towers andcamping facilities. Other cenotes worth checking out along the route: SieteBocas, Boca del Puma and Verde Lucero.

Indiana Jones' Yucatan dream pad. Thefarther you push into Latin America, the more probable your chances ofstumbling upon some ancient megacity that the jungle swallowed centuries beforethe conquistadores set sail. Among those is Chichen Itza, one of the more ofthe more impressive reminants of Mayan civilization and a two-three hour drivefrom Cancun. Active from 600 to 1200 AD., it's now one of Mexico's most visitedarchaelogical sites, banking more than a million visitors annually.

Townie time. Mexican touristdestinations like Cancun are always a tale of two cities. One is specificallyfor visitors, home to high-end resorts, star restaurants and posh nightlifespots. The other holds the side of the city only the locals know, the true rootof the city's original flair. Escape the whitewashed hotel zone for downtownCancun and park it at Parque Las Palapas, a plaza at the intersection ofTulipanes and Alcatreces where impromptu amateur hour is every hour for localLatin American Idol hopefuls of all ages, while you kick back a few empanadasand tamales. Nearby Mercado 28 is where to head for a Mexican arts and craftsshopping spree for Saint Death statues, serapes, tire-soled sandals known ashuaraches and such. Then stroll down Avenida Yaxchilán, acentral thoroughfare lined with divey cantinas and restaurants usually reservedfor locals but with always room for a loaner gabacho or two.

Wet and wild. In the Mexican Carribean,where playa paradise is here, there and everywhere, you're right to wonder whyanyone would waste time at waterpark. That is, unless, you know that fewwaterparks in the world compare to a Mexican waterpark, which comes as a vitallesson to the average foreign visitor: One's safety, even in environments suchas waterparks where the gringo custom of million-dollar lawsuits usuallyensures that an establishment keeps everything up to code, is never to beassumed. "Ride at your own risk" is the unspoken law, but thetradeoff of the heightened chance of peril is the added freedom to do so in waysnever conceivable in the U.S., namely headfirst either on your back or stomach.Wet'n Wild, Cancun's lone parque acuatico, houses some six slides, a lazyriver, wave pool and a full bar.

Forging la fiesta. CocoBongo is a massive dance club whose campy rap is precededonly by its cultish take on Vegas-style shows, and probably the only bar inwhich you'll see a Lady Gaga impersonator who isn't a man. Mambo Café books live música latina acts from Colombia,Venezuela, the Domincan Republic and Cuba; here's where you'll learn that itreally is all in the hips. Live lucha libre (masked Mexican wrestling) andbikini contests happen at Bulldog Cafe. The City calls its million-watt sound system the best in LatinAmerica, and the performer hall of fame includes the likes of 50 Cent, Sasha,Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk. Dady'O, known for its light shows,recently played host to a DJ set by LMFAO's Redfoo.

Spring break is not for sleeping. Cheap: The Cancun Nest Hostel, centrally located downtown. Cool:El Rey del Caribe, 31-room eco-hotel, downtown. Sweet kitsch: HotelXbalamque, ode to Mayan Jaguar god of the universe, downtown.

They’re coming out with their self-released debutsingle “Magic” worldwide on March 2nd. The single includes two remixes from MidnightMagic and Gavin Russom (Crystal Ark), all mixed by Eric Broucek of DFA Records. Our friends at FILTERMagazine premiered the exclusive download of "Magic" remixed Midnight Magic!

Midnight Magic's remix of Panama's first single"Magic" busts out the 80's pop sensibility with some brighter modernspins on synth elements. The band is preparing for the release of theirforthcoming album, also produced and mixed in Los Angeles by Eric Broucek of DFA fame (HolyGhost, Eleanor Friedberger, !!!).

Where Has Your AE Been - Namibia

Sarah C. from Waterstown, NY traveled to Namibia in Africa for a month last summer to visit a friend from college. While in Namibia, Sarah went on a safari, swam in a salt hole in the middle of the desert (with water so dense that you can float in it), climbed the largest sand dune in Namibia, and visited Victoria Falls, the largest waterfall in the world!

The Ting Tings Premiere New Track “Soul Killing”

Platinum-selling, GRAMMY-nominated British duo The Ting Tings (Jules De Martino and Katie White) will make their highly anticipated sophomore album, Sounds From Nowheresville (Columbia Records), available in the US on March 13th. Check out their new track “Soul Killing” at AOL Spinner.

Additionally, first single “Hang it Up” will be available digitally on February 10th and fans can pre-order the standard and digital deluxe editions of the album in the US beginning on February 21st. The Ting Tings will tour in support of their new collection through March and April, kicking off the run at SXSW and taking their electrifying show across the US and Canada with electro-pop artist MNDR supporting on all dates.

Whatare your fashion inspirations?

I am very a visual person and am inspired by sooomany things on a daily basis...people on the street, movies, magazines,billboards, thrift stores, you name it! Also, I LOVE to surf! The whole surfculture/lifestyle has been a huge inspiration for me.

Howdid you get your start as a fashion stylist?

Sesame Street!! They actuallyused to publish a magazine called Sesame Street Parents Magazine and I was incharge of styling and shopping for all the cute teens and tweens! It was ablast!

Whatare your favorite Spring items from AE?

The AE Dark Denim Shirt, the AE Plaid Camp Shirt, AE Floral Corset Dress, and the AE Tribal Flared Skirt.

Whatis your favorite fit of AE jeans?

The AE Jegging! I'm OBSESSED!They are super soft and stretchy and look great with almosteverything in my closet. I actually bought 3 pairs!

What can you neverleave the house without?

My lipgloss! I feel sounglamorous without it! Right now I am loving Sonia Kashuk ultra shine sheerlip gloss. It's the perfect hint of pink!

What is yourcasual party style?

I always love a fun partydress, but if I want to be somewhat casual I'll pair it with coolrocker boots and lots of studded jewels to funk-ify the look!

Where is your favorite Spring Break Destination?

It doesn't really matter where I go forspring break. As long as I have my surfboard and fun waves, I 'm happy!

- I like to spend my free time with my friends andfamily. I love to go fishing with my dad and play golf. I recently have gotteninto the book series The Hunger Games and I am an avid ping pongenthusiast.

What is the best thing about modeling for AE?

I absolutely love thepeople I get to work with.

What was your favorite part of the Spring shoot?
I loved shooting in Palm Springs– the crew was awesome and the weather was great.

What is the craziest thing you've ever done?
I went sky-diving in California.

What's an item that's on your bucket list?

I would love to see some ofthe world’s most bizarre sporting events. I would love to travel to the WorldChampionship of Arm Wrestling. I also would love to go to the Amazon orVenezuela to fish with my Dad.

There's a poetic purity that runs through PAPA’s punk-meets-soul album, A Good Woman is Hard to Find. Singer and drummer Darren Weiss' earnest vibrato often takes on a Springsteen-like growl in its best moments. A Good Woman is Hard to Find is an album as ripe for romance as it is partying. It has moments of aggression and simple bliss, with a classic sense of harmony, melody and style. It’s a modern, rough-and-tumble take on classic soul.

With the help of Weiss' musical partner, friend-since-childhood, bassist Danny Presant, the tracks gain a hip-hop sensibility that separates PAPA from simple revivalists and instead into timeless territory. You were featured on an episode of Brazil’s Next Top Model.What was that experience like?

Rodrigo was on the‘male model’ episode of Brazil’s Next Top Model. The girls had to pose in a bedwith him.

It was a different thing. It was something I’ve never done.[The girls] were like “Oh my God my boyfriend!”

How do you spend your free time?

I get my camera and take pictures. I also play Capoeirawhich is a mix of music and martial arts. And foot volley – it is likevolleyball but with feet.

What job would you do if you weren’t modeling?

I would be trying toplay soccer professionally or an engineer. I went to college in New Jersey toplay soccer, but then started modeling.

What is the best thing about modeling for AE?

Everything! You are around amazing people. You feel at home.The pictures you see are real and true. That’s how we feel when we are shootingthem.

What is the coolest place your job has taken you?

Alaska for the Holiday shoot. Fishing salmon was amazing. Icaught two. We cooked dinner with the fish everyone caught and ate them.

What would you take a girl to do on a first date?

I’m not very romantic in the beginning. In Brazil we usuallygo to the beach for the nice sunsets. Depends on the mood.

What was the most fun part of the Spring shoot in PalmSprings?

We would do karaoke at night. I sang ‘Billy Jean’ by MichaelJackson.

What are your favorite items from Spring?

The shorts and the board shorts. I used to wear them a lotin Brazil.

New York-via-Bay Area artist MNDR, a.k.a Amanda Warner, released her brand new single “#1 In Heaven” produced by Peter Wade and mixed by Tony Maserati (Beyoncé, Lady Gaga) via Ultra Records. The song premiered on Pitchfork HERE,stream it via Soundcloud HERE or watch the video below. Directed by old friend Cody Critcheloe, a.k.a. SSION, the video, inspired by Patty Hearst, attempts to make a political manifesto using different archival footage, animation, and film techniques.

MNDR will release her much anticipated full-length debut album in Summer 2012. “#1 In Heaven” is as irresistible as everything else she’s given us thus far, and the first single since “Cut Me Out.”

The weather is warming up and we are ready to ditch our coats and scarves. See how you can take your favorite Spring AE looks into Summer with a few simple changes.

The first Spring look features two trends: color blocking and colored jeggings. The weather is still cool so long sleeves and pants are necessary to stay warm but you can let a pop of bright color shine through.

As soon as the thermometer rises above 60 degrees, we're ready for shorts. Pair your favorite denim cut-offs with a sweater for added warmth. We're dying for the weather to turn and rock all of our new Sam Edelman for AEO wedges and sandals!
