You Are All I See comes as a follow-up to last year’s critically-acclaimed Curtis Lane EP which was released by FILTER US Recordings. You Are All I See was produced by Ariel Rechtshaid (Cass McCombs, Glasser, We Are Scientists, Major Lazer) and features 10 brand new tracks including “Playing House" - a collaboration with lo-fi r&b singer How To Dress Well - which Pitchfork praised in their premeire saying, “Active Child’s sound now seems positively ahead of its time.” "Playing House" is already available on iTunes, and can be heard on Active Child’s website, www.activechildmusic.com.

Active Child are currently supporting the new album with their first headlining tour in the United States, including an ongoing residency at Los Angeles’ Echo theater every Monday night in the month of August. Having opened for the likes of School of Seven Bells, White Rabbits, and James Blake, fans will be treated on this tour to the first performances of Active Child as a full band. The tour officially kicks off on August 30 in Tucson, Arizona. Active Child and special guests electronic up-and-comers Com Truise and Chad Valley will be appearing in major cities across the US and Canada, including a sure-to-sell-out September 10 stop at New York City's Bowery Ballroom. Thursday Pick: Poolside

Today's pick is from our friend Sam at Filter: I have an extra special treat for you today. Los Angeles based DJs/Producers Poolside have managed to merge 2 of my favorite things: Neil Young and Disco. Filip Nikolic & Jeffrey Paradise (aka Poolside), have created a cover of Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon” and it’s a groovy take on an old classic.

Enjoy!

Alex Winston "Velvet Elvis" Video

Detroit born Alex Winston has announced news of her next release, Velvet Elvis; the title track will be released as part of an EP on September 19th through Island Records UK / HeavyRoc US

Having released a critically acclaimed mini album earlier this year, headlined a NME Awards Show, Alex is currently putting the finishing touches to her debut album – due January 2012 through Island Records. She has been working with producers Bjorn Ytlling (Lykke Li), The Knocks and the award winning Charlie Hugall (Florence and the Machine, Crystal Fighters).

Alex is also working on a 4-piece documentary with various film makers exploring some of the interesting oddities that have influenced her whilst making her album; including beauty pageants and fortune cookie writers.

Those who have seen Alex live can attest to the energy and power of her performance whilst the presence of her band and backing singers - known as The Sisterwives - gives them an almost cult-like quality.

Dom Releases “Family Of Love” Today

Ever since he went from selling low budget beats out of a Worcester bedroom to pursuing his own twisted version of pop music, Dom has made one thing clear: his undying desire to deliver heaven-sent harmonies and hooks that are heavier than – and about as colorful as – his pink paisley guitar. That was certainly the case on last year’s Sun Bronzed Greek Gods EP, as proven by crowd pleasers like the synth-laced “Living in America”.

Nothing’s changed now that he’s released his second EP, Family of Love.

Check out a stream of the record HERE.
