Are you headed to SXSW this year in Austin? When you aren’t attending the show and learning about the coolest, newest things in technology, music and film you need to get out and check out the city. Don’t know where to start? We put together a guide with the help of our resident Austin expert, Addie, of some of the hottest spots in town!

Start things off at Uncommon Objects an awesome little store with antiques, oddities and curious goods. You’re sure to find the perfect Austin trinket to take back home. Austin is a huge music town so next up is Waterloo Records to grab some new music. Stop by Home Slice Pizza on South Congress for a slice then head to Continental Club, dubbed as the granddaddy of all local music venues since 1957, for a live show. Not in the mood for live jams? Go to Alamo Draft House instead – it’s a movie theater that serves beer and food – you can’t beat that!

You’re in Texas so you MUST have some Mexican food and one of the best places around is Gueros Taco Bar boasting handmade corn tortillas, specialty dishes, hand-shaken margaritas and just about any Mexican beer you can name. Hit up a few bars like Flamingo Cantina, Mohawks and Shangri-La as you make your way to either The Blind Pig or Union Park to dance the night away on the rooftop. When you’re ready to retire your dancing shoes for the night it’s off to Magnolia Café for some late night eats (they serve breakfast 24/7 which Addie says is the best thing to get on the menu).

There you have it! Everything and anything you need to do in Austin for SXSW. Can’t wait to see you there! Feel free to leave us comments below if you have a favorite place in Austin that didn’t make our list.
