We have a serious crush on Holly Dodson, lead singer of the Canadian duo, Parallels. The electronic-pop duo have been wowing audiences with their vintage synth-driven licks and uptempo HI-NRG rhythm patterns. Likened to acts such as Giorgio Moroder, New Order and Depeche Mode, Parallels was born when drummer Cameron Findlay, former drummer of Crystal Castles, partnered up with the sweet-voiced Dodson to complete a selection of tracks he had been working on. Debut single 'Ultralight' was all it took for them to be recognized by music lovers across the globe, for their incredible music video and soonafter, a feature on a recent Kitsune Records compilation. With vocal stylings that have been compared Madonna's true-blue era, honey-haired front girl Dodson channels the magnetism of free-spirited predecessors whilst weaving together sounds of static circuitry with lilting neu-Italo undertones into a patchwork of complex sonic stratums.
