2012 has been an incredible year so far for Melbourne-based musician, Chet Faker. In March he played stand-out performances at SXSW, which led to a record deal with Downtown Records who are set to drop the Thinking in textures EP on May 22nd with a vinyl release on June 19th. Chet Faker’s full length is on the horizon for early 2013.
Hailing from the tight-knit disco and house music scene in Melbourne and taking elements from an acoustic past, Chet Faker has carved out a unique style that fuses personal stories of love and loss with an electronica soul that reaches far beyond his homeland. Shrouded in secrecy, hidden behind an alias and disguised by a beard, Chet Faker enjoys mystery. He came to everyone’s attention when his cover of Blackstreet’s classic 'No Diggity'.
